Our Mission
Alongside elimination, reusing and recycling - we believe compostable plastics will play an important role in achieving New Zealand’s zero-waste mission. Right now, compostable plastics lack the necessary infrastructure.
We want to put that infrastructure in place.
Our mission is to provide New Zealand with a unifed product stewardship program for compostable "soft" plastic packaging.

Who's Involved
This Product Stewardship Scheme is the result of a collaboration between Go Well Consulting, Pitch Black Partners, Super Trash, and Envirofert.
Stage one of our plan involves a 6-week trial with seven brands who are using compostable packaging materials, at four Auckland stores.
The four stores are:
-
Commonsense Mt Eden
-
Huckleberry Glenn Innes
-
Huckleberry New Lynn
-
Trade Aid Ponsonby
The seven brands involved are:
-
Bostock Chickens
-
Kokako
-
Ceres Organics
-
Proper Crisps
-
The Organic Farm
-
Commonsense
-
Trade Aid
We would like to say a very special THANK YOU to all the stores and brands who are collaborating with us on this trial!
We would also like to say a big THANK YOU to Auckland Council for your funding support and our volunteers for giving up your time and sharing our vision for a waste-free NZ.
The technical term for this project is called a Product Stewardship Scheme and it involves businesses taking responsibiltiy for the full life cycle of their packaging.
We are partnering with Super Trash to do the collections and Envirofert to do the composting. See the video below of the composting process.
